The Challenge

What the client needed

LiveFree sells AI and digital-skills courses, and had outgrown selling them by hand. Enrolments, payments, course access, certificates and instructor payouts were heading for separate tools held together by memory.

The academy grows by referral. Ambassadors earn commission on the sales they bring, and the program needed to be real rather than tracked on a spreadsheet: tiered rates, thresholds, and a free course unlocked at a referral count.

Students needed to find the right course across a growing catalogue, not scroll a list.
What We Built

How it works

Built the learner side: course and programme catalogue, cohort and registration flows, in-course progress, certificates, and discussions.
Built the operations side: a 43-screen admin covering courses, programmes, cohorts, registrations, instructors, transactions, payout requests, email campaigns, and error logs.
Wired Paystack for payments and built the referral engine on top of it, with two commission tiers, a bonus threshold, and an automatic free-course unlock once an ambassador passes the referral count in a month.
Added Typesense search over the catalogue, and Resend for transactional and campaign email.
Ran it on Firestore with a 22-collection data model, so reporting is a query rather than a conversation.
